homeopathic scientific community. Away from the political scene there are scientists out there, who uphold good standards. If you want to know more about research in veterinary homeopathy or homeopathy in general please have a look at our website: http://www.iavh.org/ For those who did not register until now at our website, please do so!
On the 14th of July there was a conference on water in London: https://thesciencetheevidence.co.uk/ and more than two years ago the DynHom project was started: http://www.homresearch.org/english/?p=646.
Last October, the One Homeopathy conference was held http://www.homeopathy-one.com/.
These are a few examples of efforts we should support in creating a homeopathic scientific community that shares to improve knowledge and technique. We have to concentrate on spreading a message of quality medicine and of integrity.
It is not our task to change the way modern medicine works. We have to do our best to find our right place in the modern world, so we can bring our medical technique to the benefit of as many patients as possible.
Meeting with an MEP (and many phone calls)
Actually, I have met with an MEP (Member of the European Parliament) who was on a fact-finding mission about homeopathy. It was an interesting lesson, which I would like to share with you.
In January 2018 we sent Emails to the MEPs about AMR [Anti-Microbial Resistance], all 700 of them, thanks to Sam the secretary of the IAVH, who spend hours sending these mails. In the mails we advised the MEPs that homeopathy will have a role to play in the strategy against AMR and that the EU should investigate this. A few weeks later, I received an email from the assistant of Stuart Agnew MEP from the UK UKIP party, asking whether he could speak to a representative of the IAVH about homeopathy and AMR. We agreed to a meeting in the UK and on the 13th of April, he came with his assistant to my surgery. The meeting was estimated to take about 2 hours; we talked for 2.5 hrs.
In preparation of the meeting I went through all the science and evidence, the legislation etc trying to be prepared not knowing what the meeting would be about. I had checked out Mr Agnew’s MEP page and found out he is a farmer (chickens and sheep) and that he does not adhere to global warming theory... I did not know what to think.
Mr Agnew arrived on time, soon followed by his assistant who is also from a farming background. He informed me that he is paid to find out about things to make decisions for his voters and that is why he came to find out about homeopathy. He had only heard a little about homeopathy before.
I spent the first hour explaining homeopathy and how it could be used on his farm. Mr Agnew was curious and wanted to make sure he understood. Then he wanted to find out more about regulation of homeopathic vets and homeopathy in general: who regulates homeopathy and who teaches homeopathy etc. Then we agreed that the public is not stupid and that there is quite a demand for homeopathy. Then followed a few questions pertinent to farming and things like TB and he said he liked my answers. He finished by saying that now he could go and tell his farmer-colleagues that homeopathic vets are also normal vets and that they did not do homeopathy because they were against everything. He said that he would support homeopathy in any way he can. He agreed that the Pharma lobby is a formidable opponent for us. Anything relating to scientific evidence in favour of homeopathy was left on the side, since he already had a mail containing all this info. This aspect was of lesser importance for him. I have since mailed

Our colloquium in Sofia (15 - 18 November 2018) [Please see mentioning elsewhere in this issue] will concentrate on the integration of homeopathy into modern medicine. There will be a research workshop for people, who are new in research held for free. There will be half a day of presentations of well- known experts in clinical research, from case reports to randomized controlled trials; and half a day a workshop will take place, where participants can ask the experts about their own research projects. Use this chance as it will be for free! The further two half days of conference will be lectures on veterinary homeopathy and lectures given by human and veterinary homeopathic practitioners.
Please have a look at the website and register: https://alhb.eu/en/bg_BG/
There is much in modern medicine in the way of knowledge that we can and should use to better the way we practice medicine.
