Report on LMHI/IAVH Congress Istanbul • 7th- 11th September 2022
After a twice having to cancel this event due to COVID, at last the LMHI were able to bring it to fruition and congratulations to them for arranging a fully face to face congress.
The ability to meet colleagues and make new acquaintances is such an important part of our homeopathic world; recognising that was a courageous and important step for us all.
From the speakers point of view there really is no substitute for standing up in front of an audience and
experiencing the contact with them, jointly and individually; similarly there is a reciprocal exchange for the participant.
The veterinary event was organised by IAVH Turkish representative Banu Kantarcioglu, and scheduled for day 2, starting at the slightly inconvenient time of 8-30 a.m.
As with the rest of the Congress, sessions were limited to 20 mins, but having been given the honour of ‘keynote speaker’ status I was allowed an extra 10 minutes.
The task of delivering the opening session fell to Don Hamilton (USA) who demonstrated how the principles of Sankaran and Scholten can be applied to animals and stressing the suitability of the Lanthanides for
autoimmune disease. He then made a short presentation on the iospathic use of ketamine in cats showing behavioural changes after neutering under the ‘dissociative analgesia’ induced by that agent. There is now evidence that the analgesic effect of ketamine has been less than originally thought, hence many of these patients are suffering from a post traumatic stress. Nevertheless, in homeopathy we have a potent medicine for their aid.
The theme of autoimminue disease was reprised by Minako Kuroda (Japan) with the case history of ‘Poe’, a dog with autoimmuine nephrosis. In the face of a very poor response to conventional treatment, Minako’s prescription of Natrum mur provided Poe with an extra two years of life with an enhanced quality of life and a peaceful death.
