Don Hamilton, practicing in Austria, discussed ‘Prevention and Treatment of Side Effects of Vaccination, Drugs, Chemo- and Radio- Therapy’, illustrated with cases from his practice. His ideal goal is accurate constitutional treatment. In appropriate cases, Don uses vaccine tautodes to mitigate the negative effects of vaccines when he feels they are blocking the effect of homeopathic medicines. He also uses drug tautodes where he feels these are the basis of pathology in the patient.
Liesbeth Ellinger of the Netherlands spoke on ‘Antimicrobial Resistance and Homeopathy’ AMR is a massive problem in both humans and animals, and homeopathy provides a valuable means to reduce the use of antimicrobials. Liesbeth showed how antimicrobial residues negatively impact soil, plant, and water life, and how the use of probiotics and homeopathic prescribing can reduce or eliminate the need for antimicrobials. She illustrated this with cases from practice, including an AMR case. In addition, Liesbeth summarized her piglet study, an RCT showing the efficacy of homeopathy in decreasing neonatal diarrhea in piglets.
Maria Fernandez Portales of Spain presented ‘Homeopathic Management of Mastitis in Dairy Cows’ based on her experience in Asturias dairy farms. Maria worked as a specialist in milk quality in dairy farms, helping farms optimize management of animals, feed, and equipment. Maria’s results, comparing the days of elevated cell counts when the milk is unacceptable, clearly showed that organic farms had significantly less mastitis after introducing homeopathic treatment in their management plan.
Stefan Kohlrausch discussed ‘Homeopathic Prevention of Internal and External Parasites’. Stefan uses a different approach depending on the nature of the infestation: acute, chronic, or preventative. In all cases, allopathic
treatment is a last resort, and the ultimate goal is improvement of health to enhance the individual’s own resistance to parasites. This may include constitutional homeopathic treatment, nosodes, improvement in management and diet, and herbal treatments.
Friday evening we enjoyed a marvelous Bulgarian dinner at Chevermeto, consisting of multiple courses and highlighted with traditional folk dancing. The food featured multiple cheeses and yogurts, and subtle spices. There were several delicious fish and meat dishes, as well as grilled and pickled vegetables.
We continued Saturday morning with Peter Gregory of the UK speaking on ‘Rhus tox and the Anacardiaceaea’. Peter preceded this with a discussion of the nature of constitutional prescribing, including whether an individual with strong cravings / fears / aversions may be considered truly healthy. Peter illustrated the picture of Rhus-tox with the help of one of his own dogs, Bunyip, a JRT with a truly miserable itch / rash problem, as well as the mental / emotional picture of Rhus-tox.
Cinzia Ciarmatori of Italy presented ‘Ulisse’s Journey – Severe Pneumonia in Male Ferret’. [see the full case in this mag on page 33] Ulisse’s owner did not believe homeopathy could help her beloved ferret with end stage changes in the lungs. Cinzia showed how homeopathy turned the case around to complete cure, documented by ultrasound resolution of the lesions, and illustrated with multiple videos from the owner. Cinzia has used homeopathy in intensive care, exotics, and wildlife, and sees it of immense value in avoiding AMR.
Carolina Gonzalez of Argentina discussed how to use the Vijayakar method of predictive homeopathy to quickly attain ‘Accurate Acute Prescribing’. This method utilises an Acute chart, where homeopathic medicines associated
