     Gandalf – Great Dane
puppy with ear nodule
by Ann Wood, UK
Early in May 2020, I began treating a nodular tumour-like lesion on the ear of a male Great
Dane puppy; he was about 8 months old at the
time. The discrete circular-shaped nodule on the anterior pinna was very firm, well circumscribed, with a wider base of about 11/2cm diameter initially. It was located within the skin only, and was raised
about 1cm with shiny pink hairless surface.
The owner had first noticed the lesion about two weeks earlier and it had been growing fairly slowly. She also reported that a week or so before it developed, the pup had a small number of scab-like lesions on the head and ears. This happened, when she gave some propriety dry food in addition to the usual raw food diet. The scabs cleared up, when she stopped the dry food, except this one, which had evolved into the nodule. There did not seem to be any relation to vaccination. They had the puppy vaccines given at a slightly later age and gave nosode
around the time to try to reduce adverse effects.
I gave Thuja 30c daily and Conium 6c twice daily, for initially ten days. The aim was to reduce the size and allow more separation from the underlying cartilage, so that if surgical removal was to be undertaken, it would prove less problematic due to skin shortage and attachment.
I was aware of the suppression issues around removing a visible lesion, as was the owner, but I advised that, should the nodule become larger or not regress at all after five days, they should see their conventional practice for possible biopsy and resection. I advised
applying Aloe vera
