PANDEMIC BAHVS AGM 3 October 2020 report by Sara Fox Chapman
Our outgoing President, Chris Day was unable to be present. Ilse Pedler, incoming President, read Chris’s emotional address touching on the challenges of his term, and looking to the future. All remembered the loss of our dear friend and long time Hon Secretary, Stu Marston, with a minute’s silence. We shall remember Stu in a tangible way using the contributions to his Memorial Fund.
Ilse’s address released Jane Keogh as Senior Vice President with gratitude, and welcomed Brendan Clarke as incoming Junior Vice President. Ilse recognised the contributions of all the Officers and discussed initiatives to move the BAHVS forward and bring in younger members.
Nazrene Moosa, incoming Secretary, noted the challenge of taking on the many tasks Stu performed. She appreciates the patience of members, and we hope to have an in person conference when the situation permits.
Sara Chapman, as treasurer, recognised the stable financial foundation established by Wendy McGrandles, and maintained this year with the help of Laura Snowdon.
new members Kay Barkley and Manda Scott were accepted by the membership.
members voted to accept the updated BAHVS Constitution. Peter Gregory reported that the IAVH held their conference in 2019 in homeopathy friendly South America.
Peter reported that the BAHVS statement to the RCVS, including research supportive of homeopathy, is almost finalised.
Peter and Barbara Jones, as Faculty reps, reported on how the Faculty is improving their financial situation and website, and preparing for a 2021 autumn conference.
In mAG news, Malene Jorgensen reported that Ann Wood will be helping encourage people to write for the mag.

VetriScience Cup, for greatest contribution to BAHVS, to Chris Day.
