          On December 14th, 2020, Bro. Daniel Clark, Pres., joined a party of 10 Masons to commemorate the death
          of  Bro.  George  Washington  at  his  Mount  Vernon  tomb.  The  annual  event  was  hosted  by  WM  Daniel
          Froggett of Alexandria-Washington Lodge #22 and a video of the proceedings was posted on the Lodge’s
          Facebook site. Sojourners were well represented at this rainy event. Bro. Michael Bible delivered the invo-
          cation and benediction. Before posting the first memorial wreath, Bro. Clark provided stirring remarks re-
          counting the military and political achievements of Bro. Washington that were essential to the founding of
          this democratic republic. His address  included the quote from  our Heroes  of 76 Camp  namesake, Bro.
          General “Light Horse Harry” Lee that Washington was “First in peace, First in war, and First in the hearts
          of his countrymen”. Wreaths were also posted by Bro. Washington’s Fredericksburg Lodge, AW22, and
          by Most Worshipful Brother Douglas Vernon Jones, the 175th Grand Master of Masons in Virginia. At-
          tendance was limited to 10 participants because of health concerns.

           On February 22nd, 2021, Chapter President Daniel Clark joined a party of Masons to commemorate the
          289th birthday of Brother George Washington at his Mount Vernon tomb. The annual event was hosted by
          WM (and Sojourner) Michael Huff of Alexandria-Washington Lodge #22 and a video of the proceedings
          was posted on the Lodge’s Facebook site. Before posting the first memorial wreath, Brother Clark, Past
          Master of AW22, provided stirring remarks recounting the military and political achievements of Brother
          Washington that were essential to the founding of this democratic republic. His address reinforced the rea-
          sons Masons celebrate General Washington, “because there are always new Americans to whom we must
          repeat what we already know, that Brother Washington… was the indispensable man…” to the founding
          of our nation and its  government.” Wreaths  were also  posted by  Brother Washington’s  Fredericksburg
          Lodge #4, George Washington Masonic National Memorial Association, Grand Commandery of Knight’s
          Templar  of  Virginia,  Alexandria-Washington  Lodge  #22,  and  by  Most  Worshipful  Brother  Douglas
          Vernon Jones, the 175th Grand Master of Masons in Virginia.
