Social Function
The social function of compliment is an expression used to
express our praise to someone. It is used by us everytime
we find something good of someone to make him or her
happy and improve his or her performance.
Generic Structure
The structure of compliment expression is:
Expression
The beginning of expression (in this case, in the
dialogue).
For example: How beautiful your new hair is!
Response
The feed back of the expression.
For example: Thank you for saying so.
The following is the expression of complimenting and its
responses.
