Auntie Amal Dina
      New school year

Dear Auntie Amal,
How are you? Iʼm now in 3rd Intermediate at school and Iʼm enjoying my lessons. My best
friend at school is Sally. She is really creative, so she likes the Art lessons. She paints
really well. I want to learn and she said she will teach me. Sheʼs very helpful. I said I will
help her with her Maths homework. She likes Maths, but sheʼs not very good at it.

Sally is very nice–looking, but a bit short! Sheʼs got beautiful curly, brown hair and dark
brown eyes. Sheʼs very kind and really good fun. Sheʼs also very friendly, and I think
weʼre going to be good friends for ever!

Email me soon.

Dina

Younis Zaid
      My best friend

Hi Younis,
Thereʼs a new guy in our class. He came to the school some time last week. Heʼs called
Ahmed. Heʼs really cool. Heʼs good at loads of things. Heʼs really hard–working and knows
a lot of Maths, Science and English.
Heʼs also very sporty and really good at volleyball. He was on my team and we won easily.
Heʼs funny looking. Heʼs quite tall, with short, straight, black hair. Heʼs clever and talkative
and really good fun, and heʼs really kind, too.

Tell me your news!
Zaid
