Abstract. The following article gives a description of what UBUNTU is in general terms and its
particularities. Where it is described that this operating system is characterized by its user-friendly
interface, in order not to confuse it in the tools that it is used to working with. Similarly, it is based on
the same needs that a commercial software can provide us, and since this particular case approach is
to have a decent, light and stable working Unity interface, some of the initial characteristics of the
software whose code is open to the public. Likewise, some characteristics of the origin of this software
are mentioned, considering that like commercial software it arises based on a need, and in this case in
particular, a concern to have a light, stable work interface, but above all FREE.
