Larry R. Reimnitz was born April 8, 1949 to Gerhard and Elizabeth Reimnitz in Mitchell, SD,
where he was raised with his sister, Charlotte and brother, Arlen. Larry graduated from
Concordia Teacher’s College in Seward, Nebraska and taught parochial school in the Chicago
area for several years. After moving to Fremont, Nebraska he married Sandra Pease in May of
1985. Six months later he adopted her three sons: Eric; Adam; and Cory. In October of 1986,
Sara was born. He was privileged to see the birth of three granddaughters in 2014: Emilia;
Andi; and Layna; and Eva in 2017.
He worked for DeKalb for a short time before starting as a lab technician at United Products in
Fremont, which later became Ash Grove Packaging. There he handled technical services until
he retired in 2014. Throughout his professional career he was involved in many associations,
serving as president, director and district coordinator for many. After retirement he continued
to serve as a part-time consultant in the industry.
In September 2008, Larry was diagnosed with Stage 4 kidney cancer. He fought a courageous
battle for nine years. He died of a heart attack September 18, 2017 at Littleton Adventist

Hospital in Colorado, where he was visiting family. He and Sandy had just come from his 50
high school class reunion in Mitchell.
Larry was an active member of Sinai Lutheran Church for more than 25 years. He sang in the
choir, led and participated in various committees, and frequently served in worship as a soloist
and cantor. He also enjoyed singing in various local ensembles and for weddings and funerals.
Larry was a skilled woodworker, creating heirloom pieces for his family, and enjoyed tackling
and conquering many different projects. But his main passion was spending time with his four
granddaughters.
