“ THE BEES KNEES SCHOOL ABUJA. RAISING A TOTAL CHILD” ISS. 1 VOL . 11. APRIL 20
It started as a rumour at
H.O.S’
first. Someone said it had
been reported at NHA,
DESK
others said even much closer,
some said it was at Maitama General. We
listened with disbelieve and anger, worry and
unparalleled anxiety as rumours mingled with
truth circulated.
It's been 13 months now since the first Corona
virus case was reported in Nigeria, life is
beginning to return to normal. While we
continue to exercise caution by observing social
distancing rules, we must also reflect on what
has been lost in that time and try to regain the
lost time, particularly in the education of our
children.
While the children were learning at
home, I recollect with nostalgia calls received
from worried parents. Many frustrated with
their kids and how they couldn't seem to focus.
As educators, this remains a continuous battle
for us.
During the two weeks break which CORONA FEVER
officially commences today, I encourage all our
parents to make time to
corona
go over the Curriculum fever!!!!
Objectives (this has
been sent to you) with
your ward. Find out what
they know and where they
need help. If you are concerned, book an
appointment with the Director of Studies.
Year 2, 5and Year 6 will return to write SAT or
Checkpoint exams.
We encourage parents of children in
these classes to work with them.
Thank you to all the parents who attended the
end of term meeting with the School
Management. We appreciate your feedback and
we are working hard to ensure that we simplify
our processes, communicate clearly and
adequately.
Happy Holidays everyone.
