APGA Now Using Tablets for CETP Training

Courses and On-line Examinations

arlier this year, we submitted a
funding request to PERC for the
purchase of tablets for CETP train-
Eing and testing The request was
approved in March when COVID-19 hit
our country We decided to postpone
the project until we could get a grasp on
what our future training would look like
I am excited to announce that we
proceeded with the project in August and
conducted our first class on August 25-26
which was CETP Basic Principles & Prac-
tices We purchased 14 Galaxy tablets
along with covers and keyboards We
also upgraded our Internet capacity and
purchased a powerful router
All the tablets were set up with the first
two CETP books (Basic and Bobtail Delivery)
Students used the electric book during class but
were given the option to check-out a hard copy
of the book to study with that night Students
set up an account in the PERC Learning Center
where they took the on-line exam They were
immediately given the Pass/Fail grade
We appreciate this class working through
a couple issues that arose All in all, this new
training process went quite well We will do it
again with the CETP Bobtail Delivery course
scheduled for September 29-October 1 ■
