Family Navigation: Your Gifts at Work
Fred’s story is a powerful example of the impact of Family
Navigation. Fred lives at the LINK at Sunset Apartments -
a community centered, inclusive apartment building that
connects people of all abilities in an environment that
promotes independence and meaningful interaction. Fred
quickly became a friendly face to Kelberman staff. They
noticed he might benefit from additional support and
gently offered resources. At first, Fred wasn’t ready, and we
respected that.
Our Family Navigator stayed connected through community
events, check-ins, and shared conversations. Over time,
that foundation grew stronger. One day, Fred walked into
our Administrative Offices and proclaimed, “I’m ready!” to
our Family Navigator.
And so, the journey began. Our Family Navigator connected
Fred and his family to local service access organizations to Bethany Wendt, Kelberman Director of Community Relations
