In February, Kelberman friends and families enjoyed an evening of tubing at Woods Valley Ski Area in Westernville.
This was an opportunity to experience tubing in a less-crowded, more sensory friendly environment. For many

of our families, this was their first-time tubing. Prior to the event, Kelberman and Woods Valley Ski Area offered
an open house, which was an opportunity for families to tour Woods Valley and familiarize themselves with the
facility and the tubing process. Friends and families were overjoyed to be able to experience tubing, sledding,
and a cup of hot cocoa together in a calm environment during the Winter season!

Kelberman and the Utica Comets teamed up to offer free sensory friendly bags for any spectators in need at all

hockey games and other events at the Adirondack Bank Center. These Kelberman bags include noise canceling

headphones and other sensory objects such as fidget spinners for fans to use throughout the game. Bethany

Wendt, Director of Community Relations at Kelberman, worked with the Utica Comets, stating “Kelberman is

elated to provide this support to people, families and caregivers in attendance at Utica Comets games. Helping

to create a sensory friendly environment at a local sporting event is huge. Having the Utica Comets recognize the

importance of the needs of people with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community
is equally as important!” A friend of Kelberman, Travis Leone, sang our national anthem AND the Canadian

national anthem! Fans also experienced tunnel time and a zamboni ride, plus a “race to make a goal” half time

show with Comets mascot Naudie and Kelberman’s Vice President of Program Services, Garrett Owen. 3
