The Hot Dog Chronicles
Now that summer is getting close to wrapping up, one must ask upon backyard barbeque reflections, “what is a hot dog and where
did this undisputed treat come from?” Is there anything more American than a grilled hot dog on a bun? There is no doubt that the
USA takes the crown in kings and queens of the consumption and adoration of these meat-filled skins that we grill with delight;
however, the beginning of this delicious and popular food began in the royal court of a fiddle playing narcissistic and clueless Roman
Emperor named Nero. Most, your writer included, had always been under the assumption that hot dogs had been invented in
Germany. The 15th century is the furthest date back that the Frankfurter of German Sausage is mentioned as being created. It was

idea of taking the intestines of a pig and stuffing it with venison, ground beef, wheat, and spices. Upon his cooked invention being

City where the residents claimed they looked like the German breed of dog named Dachshund. The long skinny body of this cute
