           Suggestions to help

           businesses to ease into

           the covid-19 endemic

           phase and beyond

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (KLSCCCI)
commends the government on the recently announced Budget 2022 offering more measures to help
alleviate the devastating effects of the pandemic. Such efforts include the allocation of RM14.2 billion funds
made available to SMEs, various reliefs for MSMEs as well as additional extensions of selected tax
exemptions. We also noted that important government bodies/ organisations such as the Securities
Commission and Bursa Malaysia have also made good contributions by providing various flexibilities and
waivers to market participants since the start of the pandemic.
As we enter the COVID-19 endemic phase, there is a need for the government and relevant
organisations to ensure businesses or the economic engines of the nation be supplied with sufficient time
and financial runway to achieve full recovery. Additionally, businesses which are of high-potential should be
accorded with sustained incentives to thrive for the long term. Some suggestions are set out by the Finance
and Capital Market (FCM) Committee of KLSCCCI as below to achieve the aforementioned aims.
