2016/2017 Phase One – A Global Presence
LAW FIRM NETWORKS The legal profession is global, but law firms
themselves can be characterized as local, regional,
17.143% global market share national, and international. Networks provide
in legal services resources in many countries. No law firm network
is truly global, which means that clients cannot be
$ 120 billion served by one firm or one network. Additionally,
there may be conflicts of interest, so a fellow
300,000 attorneys member firm cannot be always used. Not all firms
have the expertise required by clients. Even the
largest international firms require lawyers in the
more remote locations.
This chart from Cyrus Freidheim’s book, The Trillion Dollar Enterprise, vividly illustrates that a
global legal profession can only be obtained by bringing together the networks and their
members. This will create maximum effectiveness and efficiency that will benefit both law firms
and clients.
The map shows existing global coverage of the 50 largest international, regional, and specialty
networks. All that is necessary is bringing them together to become accessible to one another
and clients. As a first step, AILFN’s technology has already accomplished this objective.
