2016/2017 Phase One – A Global Presence
FACT SHEET AILFN is a trade association.
(Association of International Law Firm MISSION advance the visibility,
Networks) is a trade association. Its mission is to capability, quality standards, and
advance the visibility, capability, quality standards, resources of legal networks and their
and resources of legal networks and their independent independent business law firm
business law firm members. members as providers of global legal
services.
Its objective is to define the global legal profession by
uniting the 3,200 independent business law firms in networks that collectively have 5,000 offices with
300,000 attorneys and offering their clients global services. These law firms represent virtually all
significant businesses on earth, providing $120 billion dollars annually of legal services.
Our primary objective is to position networks as the ideal legal client services model. The challenge
is that over the years, there has been no voice for networks. They have largely been ignored by the
legal media. This is very different than in the accounting profession, where networks are the model.
AILFN fills this gap. It represents the common interests of international, regional, and specialty law
firm networks.
We support and endorse the law firm network model as a strong and proven business strategy for
independent law firms.
