VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM - IGNITION SWITCH 91-3

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1 . Precaution. (Refer to “Chapter 51. Steering column - steering system,
precaution”)
2 . Disconnect battery negative cable. (Refer to "Chapter 20. Start & charge - battery,
replacement")
3 . Disconnect battery positive cable. (Refer to "Chapter 20. Start & charge - battery,
replacement")
4 . Remove the horn button assembly. (Refer to “Chapter 51. Steering column -
steering wheel assy, overhaul”)
5 . Remove the steering wheel assembly. (Refer to “Chapter 51. Steering column
- steering wheel assy, overhaul”)
6 . Remove the clock spring. (Refer to “Chapter 62. Supplemental restraint system
- clock spring, replacement”)
7 . Remove the combination switch assembly. (Refer to “Chapter 51. Steering
column - combination switch assy, replacement”)
8 . Remove the combination switch lower cover. (Refer to “Chapter 51. Steering
column - steering column assy, overhaul”)

9 . Remove the ignition switch assy.
(a) Disconnect connector.
(b) Remove harness clip.

(c) Remove the anti-theft coil/ignition lock cap.

(d) Press the retaining clip and remove the
ignition switch.
