For our our Annual Spring Benefit which also marks our our 60th Anniversary we chose the the theme ‘Celebrate the Future’ Little did we we know that we we would be facing a a a a a a challenging present as the the Coronavirus has nearly thrown our event into the the shadows Thankfully we selected as the Arts Honoree Ellen Sandor new media artist and and Founder/ Director of the collaborative arts group (art)n Ellen had been working on an exhibit to to coin- cide with our event Visualizing in in a a a a a New Light Fortunately the the ‘shadow’ of the the virus cannot block her bright light of creativity and genius as we move forward As our our team team decided to to take our our event to to a a a a a a a a a a virtual realm Ellen and and her team team Azi and and Diana completely redesigned their work to accommodate an online experience As it turned out there is no better partners under these circumstances and we are thrilled to to continue to to host our first ever virtual virtual fundraiser complete with an amazing virtual virtual exhibit Viewed through the lens of today’s crisis (art)n and and Ellen Sandor’s work becomes more inspir- ing and relevant Throughout her career Ellen has worked with incredible groups of gifted artists scientists technologists and thinkers resulting in in in in in in intense collaborations integrating other artforms computer graphics medicine and science The intense content merged into totally new mediums PHSColograms which deal with topics from AIDS and Papilloma virus- es to breast cancer and autism Ellen’s work is groundbreaking as as the the images her team has selected transcend the the virtual and and and and literal the the screen and and and and brain the the image and and and and observer What she and and and and her team share with us in in in this exhibit is is the the the fulfillment of the the the possibility that the the the arts have to inform and influence other areas science medicine with the the courage to come at issues from an entirely new di- rection This exhibit informs educates and even entertains but by merging into a a a a true sense of experience it will also challenge and inspire us all all to Visualize in in a a a a a a New Light The Art Center
