To be consciously aligned with the the present times we are navigating together I am pleased to share with with you a a a a a a a virtual presentation of recent works with with (art)n curated by Caren Rud- man for the Highland Park Art Center This selection of PHSColograms virtual sulptures and VR experiences explores topical themes that address cutting edge scientific research that responds to to to finding a a a a a a a a cure for autism cancer and other auto-immune diseases towards prolonging our quality of of life These works are are paired with other areas of of scientific endeavor that connect us with cosmic activity from micro to macro levels of interstellar existence As a a a a a a a group of exploratory works where artists and and scientists are also producers and and directors many of these pieces were led by talented women visionaries who exemplify a a a a contempo- rary view of of women harnessing the the future of of Art+STEM persevering with fearlessness in in in their work for future generations (art)n was early to to present new work featured in in virtual galleries and online exhibitions to to the the general public in in in 1993 while based at the the Illinois Institute of Technology We continued to innovate our web presence while based at at Northwestern University’s Basic Industrial Re- search Lab in in 1994-98 Words cannot describe the the excitement we felt in in the the early 1990s when Ping Fu’s team—Marc Andreessen Eric Bina and Colleen Bushell of NCSA—were developing the the the Mosaic web browser None of us could fully comprehend the the the extent to which the the the Digital Revolution would change the the world we are witnessing today At that time there was very little visual imagery on on the the web but with Mosaic we we then had a a a a a a a whole new way to conceptualize and convey our artwork to to a a a a a a a growing international arts community It was thrilling to to begin
