P. 4
Isabel navigated through different worlds and dramas that scattered
her life, guided by events, not by her own choices. From the
mysterious disappearance of her father to a forced exile in
Venezuela, she finally found a second home in California, this time,
guided by love. Deep in her soul, the link with her grandfather is
what connects her from a tumultuous past to her present and keeps
her going.
Living with passion and a mission she nurtured her Shakespearean
childhood reading to become a successful journalist and woman of
media, co-founding “Paula” a feminist magazine. But it’s not until her
grandfather passed away that she felt the need to immerse herself
into writing, at 39 years old, to heal her wounds, delivering a
stunning first book “The House of Spirits” that’ll become an
immediate success.
Through her life experience her books take us into a very intimate
journey between magic and reality merging the two worlds in natural
relationship. After the publication of her 4th book, her life was again
rocked by another drama, that prompted her to abandon everything
to be with her daughter struck by a rare illness until her last breath in
1992.
Healing through writing is what Isabel did, but not only for her, but
also to share healing stories with her readers to become the most
successful Latin America Female writer today.
