Location C - Recreation Zone
The recreation area is an existing sports hub in the town and has good proximity to facilities, shops and accom-
modation. It is a bit further away from the trail network entrance. This area is also in a flood plain also, however
it is the furthest away from the river and likely to have the least erosional energy/lowest flood frequency. From a
town perspective this is the best location as parents/ siblings can do their respective sports in one area and uti-
lise the existing services. Holiday makers staying in the town can also access the facilities without children need-
ing to cross the main road. There is a clear risk of users choosing to park closer to the trail network at McKee
park. This will need to be monitored.
