Our Parent Teacher Meetings at the beginning of every academic session are vital to setting the tone
for the year and getting parents to know their child’s class and teacher. In our Staff Week, we discussed
a new approach to this where teachers had to discuss a lot more about who they are as teachers, the ex-
perience they bring to their class, their teaching philosophies, teaching strategies, how they manage their
classrooms and parent expectations of them as teachers.

It was an insightful time, where meaningful discussions occurred as against projecting class routines like
we used to do in the past. We also got parents to meet each other and introduce their children.
We were big on getting parents to set goals for their children, which we have displayed in the class-

rooms as a form of reinforcement and encouragement for the children to understand that their parents
are in it with their teachers to help them succeed.

We appreciate every parent who attended this meeting. If you didn’t come for this meeting, please
reach out to your child’s teacher about the “Goal Setting” sheets so that you can fill them out and re-
turn them to your child’s classroom.
