Our Father’s Day event, a unique and eagerly anticipated occasion at our school, commenced with
a sprinkle of rain on a cloudy Friday morning, adding to the charm of the day. The school was
abuzz with excitement as fathers, dressed to the nines and radiating pride, made their grand en-
trance.
The day’s activities kicked off on time, with the Head of School extending a warm welcome to the
numerous esteemed guests. Mrs Amelia then took the reins, introducing the games of football and
badminton. The fathers, forming teams of five, eagerly took to the field under the watchful eyes
of the school’s PE team. With the blow of the whistle, the matches were underway.
The hallways reverberated with cheers as children wholeheartedly cheered for their fathers. The
atmosphere was electric with shouts of ‘hey,’ ‘oh,’ and ‘goaaallll’ as dads played with infectious en-
thusiasm. Badminton was a hit, and a few men showcased their skills on the court, fully embracing
the spirit of the day.
Father’s Day, a day of profound significance, allows us to honour and appreciate the paternal
figures in our lives. It’s a day to express our profound gratitude for their love, guidance, and sac-
rifices. Whether through heartfelt conversations, thoughtful gifts, or simply spending quality time
together, Father’s Day is a powerful reminder of the irreplaceable bond between fathers and their
children and their pivotal role in shaping our lives.
In summary, Father’s Day was a joyous affair. Fathers enjoyed a delectable spread of puff puff,
snacks, and refreshments. Memorable moments were captured in photographs by Mr Kelechi, and
Mrs Ibrahim proudly awarded trophies to the winning team.
