A VISIT TO THE

CE MUSEUM
YEAR 1
Y EAR 1
With excitement and curiosity, Year 1 embarked on an unforgettable adventure to the Space Mu-
seum. Our young explorers, brimming with enthusiasm, embarked on a journey that would take
them beyond the confines of Earth and into the vast expanse of the cosmos.
The highlight of the visit was the Virtual Reality (VR) experience, where our students, with
their active participation, had the extraordinary opportunity to see and interact with the planets.
Equipped with VR headsets, the children were transported into the heart of our solar system.
They marvelled at the fiery majesty of the Sun, the serene beauty of Saturn’s rings, and the capti-
vating colours of Jupiter’s stormy atmosphere. The interactive VR allowed them to feel like they
were astronauts, reaching out to touch the planets and learning about the unique characteristics of
each celestial body.
In addition to the awe-inspiring VR experience, the Space Museum offered a variety of engaging
games that combined fun with education. Our students participated in space-themed activities that
not only challenged their knowledge and creativity but also provided a delightful way for the chil-
dren to learn about space science in an interactive and enjoyable manner.
The excitement didn’t end there. The children encountered fascinating exhibits throughout the
museum that showcased the wonders of space exploration. They learned about the history of
space travel, from the early days of rocketry to the modern achievements of space missions. The
exhibits connected to the stories of astronauts and scientists who have dedicated their lives to ex-
ploring the unknown.
They also had the opportunity to see the models of the various rockets launched by the Nigerian
government since 2003, when she launched her first earth observation satellite (NigeriaSat-1) in
September 2003.
As the day drew to a close, the young astronauts returned to school with a newfound appreciation
for the universe. The excursion to the Space Museum not only ignited their imaginations but also
sparked a deeper interest in science and exploration. It was a day filled with wonder, discovery, and
the joy of learning.
This memorable trip has undoubtedly left a lasting impression on our Year 1 students, encourag-
ing them to reach for the stars and dream big. We look forward to many more such adventures
that continue to nurture their curiosity and passion for learning.
