Reception students take the Base Reception assessment. This is a short, interactive,
and practical assessment designed to measure early skills in:
• Mathematics (early number, early addition and subtraction, mathematical lan-
guage, early understanding of patterns)
• Literacy, communication, and language (early vocabulary, phonological aware-
ness, early comprehension)
