actions, even during disagreements, we teach our children how to resolve conflicts con-
structively and maintain positive relationships.
Here are some practical ways to set an example:
· Speak Respectfully:
Use calm, respectful language, even in moments of frustration. Children learn from
watching how we handle challenges and disagreements.
· Show Empathy:
Listen to others’ perspectives and encourage your child to do the same. Empathy is a cor-
nerstone of respectful interactions.
· Practice Digital Kindness:
Model thoughtful and kind behaviour online. Avoid negative comments or arguments on
social media, as children often mirror what they see in the digital space.
· Apologize and Forgive:
Show that making mistakes is part of life and that apologizing sincerely and forgiving oth-
ers is essential to maintaining respect.
· Celebrate Differences:
Emphasize the value of diversity by appreciating different opinions, cultures, and perspec-
tives, helping your child understand the importance of inclusion.
Imagine a World Where Respect Thrives
Respect and kindness do not occur by chance; they develop through our daily choic-
es. By teaching our children how to handle disagreements respectfully and to treat
everyone fairly and with empathy, we contribute to building a world where respect
and kindness can flourish.
Our Commitment to Respect
At Abuja Prep, respect is at the heart of everything we do. We believe every child has
the right to feel safe and valued, and we are committed to addressing any concerns
promptly and effectively.
Thank you for your ongoing support in helping us create a school community where
respect is encouraged and chosen daily. Let’s work together to make this Anti-Bully-
ing Week a meaningful and lasting success.
Have a wonderful week, everyone.
Best wishes
Dominique Dyer.
