PHONICS CLUB (EYFS)
At Phonics Club, our goal is to build children’s confidence in using
their phonemic awareness to decode words through engaging,
play-based activities. Each session is thoughtfully designed to make
learning fun, interactive, and meaningful as the children explore
different sounds, blend them to form words, and apply their growing
knowledge through a variety of enjoyable games.
Through these activities, pupils develop a genuine love for reading
while strengthening key skills such as careful listening, sound
recognition, and independent spelling of simple words. They also
practise proper letter formation and explore objects that correspond
to each letter sound — identifying, illustrating, and discussing them
with enthusiasm.
One of the children’s favourite parts of each session is the letter
search, where the teacher guides them to find and name objects
beginning with targeted letters. It’s always a delight to see their
excitement as they connect sounds, words, and meanings — a joyful
reminder that learning to read can be both magical and fun
