A VIKING VOYAGE

Year 4 immersion

This term, our Year 4 students are travelling
on an exciting journey to the Viking age, ex-

ploring a historical fiction story titled: “His-
tory Hackers” (Viking Voyage).

As part of our Immersion activity, the class-
room transformed into a Viking village,
where students could explore the fascinating
world of these legendary Norse explorers,
traders, and warriors.

During the immersive experience, students
delved into stories that brought Viking histo-
ry to life. They learned about

The Viking ships and how their vessels
allowed the Norsemen to sail across vast
oceans.

They dressed in Viking-inspired costumes and
reenacted scenes from daily Viking life, such as
preparing simple meals and trading goods, giving
them a firsthand understanding of the Viking cul-

ture.
This immersive activity helped our Year 4 students
develop a deep appreciation for Viking history,
leaving them eager to explore more about ancient
civilizations and ready to write their own historical
fiction stories. It was a truly unforgettable experi-
ence for everyone involved.
