NURSERY

The Nursery theme this term kicked off with an exciting topic called ‘Neighbourhood Ad-
venture’, and our very first stop was ‘My School’! This topic helped us learn more about the
special places around us, starting with the one we visit every day — our school!
We talked about the different parts of our school and the important people who help make
it a happy and safe place to learn. The children were introduced to new and fun words like

proprietress (the kind lady who owns our school), playground (where we run and play), secu-
rity house (where the guards keep us safe), school hall, nurse station, kitchen, chef, cleaner,
classrooms, art room, and many more.

Through stories, songs, role play, and fun discussions, the children explored what each per-
son does in the school — from the chef who makes our meals, to the cleaner who keeps our
space tidy. It was so exciting to connect what we see every day with the names and roles that

make up our school community.

We are proud of how curious and

involved the children were. What a
wonderful way to start our Neigh-
bourhood Adventure!
