ORIENT A TION
Our school hosted a New Parent Orientation meeting last week to welcome new parents into
our community. During the meeting, we introduced the Senior Management Team (SLT). We
also discussed our school’s values and educational philosophy, highlighting the various depart-
ments in the school.
Parents with children in the Early Years had an informative session with Mrs Elizabeth and Ms
Amelia, the Head of Department and Coordinator of the Early Years. They both discussed the
daily routines, the importance of learning through play, and how we support children’s develop-
ment based on the goals outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum. The
parents asked questions and felt confident entrusting their children to our Early Years program.
During the Primary session, Ms Juliet provided an overview of the Cambridge Primary, Pro-
gress, Control Tests and Checkpoint exams taken in the final year of Year 6. She also explained
how we generate student reports and the grading system used to assess student performance by
the Cambridge Primary Curriculum.
In addition, Ms Juliet discussed the various school policies, emphasizing the importance of ef-
fective communication between parents and their child’s teacher. The parents of Primary stu-
dents attended this session.
The meeting ended with all questions answered. Welcome once again to the Abuja Prep family.
