TERM 3 ACCOLADES ASSEMBLY
THE RECOGNITION IS
A BONUS, GROWTH
IS THE GOAL
etting the accolades felt nice, and I’m defi-
nitely grateful for it. It’s one of those things
G that you don’t really think too much about
at first, but when it happens, you realise the work
didn’t go unnoticed. It’s a good feeling to be rec-
ognised, even if that wasn’t the main goal from the
start.
Achieving results requires effort, including prepa-
ration for the weekly tests and attending classes,
which is crucial. Moments when you are tired will
come, but just keep pushing. It’s not always fun
or exciting, but that consistency adds up. You just
have to lock in and stay with it.
If I had to give advice, I’d say don’t think too much
about getting accolades. That can’t be your main
focus. Just focus on doing your best and being the
best version of yourself, especially when it comes
to your academics. That means staying disci-
plined, listening in class, and doing things prop-
erly even when nobody is watching. If you get the
Dimieari David Kemedi award, that’s good - it’s a bonus. However, if you
Year 10 Benue don’t, it doesn’t mean the work didn’t matter. As
long as you know you were genuinely putting in the
effort, that is what really counts. You just accept it
and keep pushing.
At the end of the day, it is about growth. I appreci-
ate the recognition, but I’m still focused on what is
ahead.
