       In Year 5, students immersed themselves in the study of explanation texts, focusing on their
       structure and purpose through reading, analysing, and creating their own. This learning
       was brought to life through an interactive event where students dressed as professionals or
       brought props to represent careers, delivering detailed explanations of their chosen roles to
       peers and teachers.  A key highlight was a session with Mrs. Kokoma Gemade, a professional

       fashion designer, who explained the steps of creating outfits—from sketching and designing
       to production, textile selection, finishing, and social media promotion. Her insights provided
       real-world context, demonstrating how explanation skills are applied professionally.


       This hands-on approach reinforced academic goals, combining theoretical knowledge with
       practical application. Students gained confidence in public speaking, enhanced their commu-
       nication skills, and developed a deeper understanding of crafting clear, informative explana-
       tions while connecting their learning to real-world contexts.
