Settling IntoThe Orientation
School Year Day
rientation Day is the first real page of a Regent
student’s story. We had an assembly with our
O parents, then prefects showed us where to go
for our houses and forms. Meeting my tutor made me
feel less nervous, and getting my books, lockers, and
a tour helped me know my way around.
We had snacks in the dining hall, took pictures in
the Smart Hub, and learned how to use Google
Classroom.
By the end, I felt calmer. I’d made some new friends,
found my house, and was ready to begin the next five
years at Regent.
I like how they
make our learning
feel important.
rientation Day was really fun. The teachers
- Mofaratioluwa
Williams were welcoming, and it felt good exploring
Othe school and seeing all the different places.
We got our books and lockers, and for some reason,
opening my locker was one of the coolest parts.
The best thing about secondary school so far has been
meeting new friends. Since we have classes with different
groups, you get to talk to more people. Even in the dining
hall, it’s easy to sit with someone new and just chat.
The hardest part has been finding classrooms.
I had to write down the room numbers, but
sometimes I’d forget and end up asking around.
