YEAR 2 IMMERSION

In English, the year group delved into

the Literacy Unit featuring Tradition-
al stories like Baba Yaga and Hansel
and Gretel. They started the sequence
with an exciting immersion activity
called “THE BABA YAGA ESCA-

PADE”.

Baba Yaga is a Russian traditional tale

with different versions of the story.
However, we centered on Baba Yaga
and the Black Geese.

Baba Yaga is a “scary old woman”

who lives in a magical hut with three
chicken legs and eats delicious chil-
dren.

This immersion activity aims to en-
hance the student’s literacy skills and
expand their vocabulary, laying the
groundwork for them to create their

traditional tales.
