Haneefa Mohammed Yusuf (Year 10 Congo) On Her Experience During The DofE Charity Visit
n Monday, December 9th,
2024, a group of DOFE stu-
Odents and our Award Lead-
ers set out to Kado Kuchi with more
than just food donations — we car-
ried a message of hope. Our mission
was to deliver food to people in rural
areas struggling with hunger, using
the funds raised from various charity
events at Regent Secondary School.
Today, food insecurity and rising
prices have made it harder than
ever for many families to afford even the basics. As DOFE stu-
dents, we know we can’t change the world overnight, but we
believe in doing what we can to help. This belief led us on this
heartfelt journey to make even a small difference.
Seeing the joy on people’s faces as we handed out food was
an eye-opening experience. It reminded me how lucky I am
to have food on my plate every day. While I wish there was
enough to feed everyone in the world, I’m grateful to be part
of the DOFE program, where even something as small as giv-
ing three packets of Indomie noodles to someone in need
can bring a glimmer of hope.
Small acts of kindness can make a big impact, and this visit
showed us just how much a little effort can mean to those in
need.
