Reflections on the Bonfire Night
ooking back on our 11th Annual Duke of Edinburgh’s
Bonfire Night, I can’t help but feel incredibly proud
L of our school community. On Friday, 8th November
2024, The Regent Secondary School came alive with ex-
citement, laughter, and a shared sense of purpose. From
the fireworks to the delicious food and lively music, it was
a night filled with joy, but more importantly, it was a night
that truly made a difference.
What stood out most was how everyone came together
for a greater cause. Thanks to the generosity and sup-
port of students, parents, and staff, we raised a significant
amount of money for charity. That generosity turned into
action when our DofE students helped distribute essential
food items to those in need, including the hardworking
support staff across all Regent Schools. It was a power-
ful reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can
have a lasting impact.
Hopefully, when we call knocking again in the nearest fu-
ture, asking for donations in all forms, you will not hesitate
to do so.
As part of their community Service, the stu-
dents in Collaboration with Regent Cares will
soon embark on a number of charity out-
reach to touch lives again.
This newsletter captures those special moments, from
the fun and celebration to the meaningful outreach that
followed. I’m beyond proud of our students for stepping
up and showing what it means to lead with compassion. Patrick Akande
