                                  My First Theme Night in

                              Regent Secondary School

his journey started about two days after the
boarding exeat. That’s when we were told that “Oh my God,”

T we would be having a theme night and that
                                                                          I thought to
Danfodio Hostel would be going first. I also realised,
“I’m a waiter?” I asked Esua when I saw my name
on the script written boldly: Waiters – Akus, Kamran, myself. I had
        Felix, Daniel, Al’amin, and myself.

“Oh my God,” I thought to myself. I had never had never had
a job before, but I still had some hope because, as
                                                                         a job before
Nazif said, most people’s first jobs are being waiters.
He helped us select the tables we would be serving. I
was assigned to the adults’ table. I had my book and
pen ready, and I was ready to rumble.

Our starter was either Yakitori (beef or chicken) or
sushi. The first parent I ever served asked for Yakitori
chicken. I congratulated him for being the first parent
I would serve. I went over to the kitchen and grabbed
his starter, the same for Mr A and Mr Reynolds.

I then proceeded to serve the main course and
dessert. The main course was Japanese curry rice
and Tsukemen ramen, and for dessert, we had
Royal Milk Tea. I enjoyed all the presentations our
seniors had prepared. However, I have to give the
most credit to our decoration — the dining hall was
completely transformed. Article by Muhammad Ibrahim
                                                                                     Year 7 Congo
Overall, this was definitely one of the best events I
have ever been part of. Also, make sure
to join boarding — trust me, you
        won’t regret it.
