let’s get moulding!

P RE-P L AYGROUP & P L AYGROUP

This term, our theme in Playgroup and Pre-playgroup has been “Funky Fingers” – a fun

way to help children build strong finger muscles and hand-eye coordination. These skills are
important for writing, self-care, and physical development.

Each week, we’ve explored new activities to help little hands grow stronger through play.

This week’s focus: Moulding!
The children enjoyed hands-on fun with clay, playdough, flour, paper mâché, and sand.
These messy, squishy materials gave them lots of chances to learn while having fun.

By squeezing, rolling, pinching, and shaping, the children are:

• Making their fingers stronger
• Getting better at using their hands

• Using their creativity
• Learning to focus and be patient
• Exploring different textures and feelings

It’s been wonderful to see them so focused and excited! These activities help them get ready
for writing, cutting, buttoning clothes, and more.

We’re proud of their progress and can’t wait for more “Funky Fingers” fun ahead!
