Enhanced Transition from Reception to Year 1


            Transitioning from Early Years to Primary is a significant and exciting step in
            a child’s educational journey, and we believe it is essential to make this move as
            smooth and positive as possible. At Abuja Prep, we offer an enhanced transition
            programme designed to give children a taste of the wonderful experiences that
            await them in Key Stage 1.


            During the coming weeks, Reception children will enjoy specialist lessons such as
            Art with Mr Idoko and Mr Isaac, Music with Mr Abel and Mr Jacob, French with

            Madam Chiamaka and Madam Genevieve, as well as sessions in ICT, Coding and
            Robotics with Mr Elijah, Mr God’swill, and Mr Hussain, PE with Mr Barth, Mr                                              As we begin the term, we would like to remind all families of some essential
            Kenny and Mr Celestine and even a trip to the swimming pool. Our teachers also                                           expectations to ensure a smooth and successful start:

                                                                                                                                     Punctuality: The school gate closes promptly at 8:00 a.m. Children arriving
                                                                                                                                     after this time will not be allowed into the school, so please ensure your child

                                                                                                                                     arrives on time each day.

                                                                                                                                     Uniforms: Please ensure the children come to school in the correct uniform,
                                                                                                                                     including black shoes. See below.


                                                                                                                                     Jewellery: For health and safety reasons, ONLY small stud earrings are al-
                                                                                                                                     lowed; hooped or dangly earrings pose a risk during active school activities.

           them feel confident and excited about the move to Primary next term.                                                      Haircuts: Hairstyles must be in line with the school policy. Please refer to the
