HEAD BOY’S ADDRESS Reflecting on my time at Regent, I’ll never forget
ood morning to the board of the Re-
gent secondary, staff, family, friends,
Gand the class of 2024. Today marks
the beginning of a new chapter in our lives.
The years of tireless studying, burning the
midnight oil, and scrutinising exam papers
have finally come to an end have finally
come to an end. But as we bid farewell, we
must remember that the quest for knowl-
edge is a lifelong journey. We merely transi-
tion from one stage to the next, carrying with
us the values and skills that our parents and
Regent have instilled in us - Respect, Re-
sponsibility, and Resourcefulness.
It is truly astonishing how we, coming from
diverse backgrounds and cultures, have
formed a family that has supported and
celebrated each other’s achievements. So
from today, we are no longer Congo, Volta,
Benue, or Senegal - which is obviously the
best house. We are one people connect-
ed by memories. I implore you never to lose
touch with these friendships and to cherish
them always.

And to our parents, our role models, and sources
Ms. Amaka’s iconic phrase, “When I play the mu-
sic, you will dance to it,” or Mr. Kings’ unforgettable
motto, “Better person.” And who could overlook
the mesmerising delight of Wednesday’s Jollof
rice and chicken? I owe a debt of gratitude to Re-
gent, for without it, I would not be standing before
you today, delivering this speech. The numerous
house competitions have been instrumental in
shaping me into the individual I am today. These
experiences have nurtured skills that will serve me
well in the future.
I am compelled to express my gratitude to the
pillars of our academic journey - our teachers.
Your unwavering support and tireless efforts have
been the wind in our sails, propelling us forward
through the challenges of life. Your sacrifices will
never be forgotten, and I offer my heartfelt thanks
to each one of you. As a small token of our ap-
preciation, we have arranged for a supply of or-
ange and green pens for all teachers to be used
for feedback in the upcoming academic session.
We hope you will think of the Class of 2024 when-
ever you use them.
I must also express my gratitude to the brilliant
Year 11 team, Ms. Amaka, Mr. Jatau, Mr. Kings, Ms.
Fasasi, Mr. Onokoya, and Ms. Suzan, for their un-
wavering support and guidance. Thank you for
chasing us out of the hallways and ensuring that
we were always where we were meant to be. Your
dedication to our success has been inspiring, and
we are forever grateful.
To Mr. and Mrs. AbdulRazaq, I extend my heartfelt
gratitude for providing us with the nurturing envi-
ronment that has allowed us to learn and thrive.

of inspiration, I offer my deepest thanks.
Last but never least, I want to acknowledge God
for the gift of life, for the opportunity to grow and
for the blessings that have brought us to this mo-
ment.
Dear Class of 2024, as you take the stage to re-
ceive your well-deserved certificates, bask in the
glory of this moment, it may be the last time we
are all together in the same place at the same
time. As we move forward, let us not forget the in-
valuable lessons we have learned, the unbreak-
able bonds we have formed, and the unforgetta-
ble memories we have created.
My history teacher, Mr. Noble, once advised us
to be bullish when answering history questions. I
urge this class to be bullish in life - to be hopeful
and to be resilient, no matter where life takes you.
Class of 2024, we did it! Let us strive to positively
impact Nigeria and the world, leaving a lasting
legacy that will be remembered for generations
to come.
Knowing every one of you has been an absolute
privilege, and serving as your Head Boy has been
an incredible honor.

ordered a supply of orange and green pens. We
hope you will think of the Class of 2024 whenever
you use them for feedback.
