A Shared Responsibility
Parents worry a lot about their children’s experiences online. In fact, internet safety, social
media and screen time were the top three parental worries in a 2023 survey. But the truth is
that online safety is not a one-time conversation, nor is it a checklist. It is an ongoing
partnership.
Simple things can make a huge difference, such as keeping devices in shared spaces,
exploring fun and educational activities together, using parental controls, setting (and
sticking to) boundaries, and - most importantly - staying involved.
At Abuja Prep, we remain committed to
equipping every child with the skills, the
confidence, and the character they need to
thrive in the future. As technology evolves,
so will we. Future sessions with parents will
look more deeply at AI, digital wellbeing,
deepfakes, and fake news - helping our
entire school community stay one step
ahead in a world where the digital and the
real are increasingly intertwined.
Together, we can turn the online world to
our advantage, creating an environment
where our children continue to discover, “Every child has the
develop and ultimately deliver their very
best. right to explore the
digital world safely,
