A Taste of The Regent
College Life
I used to think ‘school spirit’ was a cliche movie trope
until I walked through the gates of The Regent
College. The sunlight streaming through the glass
windows in the Library and the student lounge felt like
a spotlight on the vision I have for the future. I never
imagined I would grow in such ways, from gradually
discovering who I am to single-handedly taking on
academic challenges that opened my eyes to the
reality of a higher education.
I am currently in my first year of the Advanced Level
program, and I have to say, whew! It’s been quite
tedious and rigorous, but not impossible. I’ve further
nurtured my teamwork skills, communication skills,
critical thinking, scientific literacy, active listening
skills, and so much more. Becoming more
independent and learning how to manage time is
basically a requirement for excelling at this school. I
appreciate the strict standards applied that keep
students on their toes at all times. The staff are
welcoming, encouraging, firm and kind, which
completes the puzzle for a near-perfect school
environment.
Giving back to the community is something I have
always loved doing since I was young, not just any
charity work, but also becoming a mentor for the
