”You went to The Regent. Did you?”. This is a question I have
been asked everywhere from family events and random social
gatherings all the way down to a job interview I had not too long
ago. May be it is the way we speak. May be it is our self-assured
body language. Whatever it may be, one thing is for sure. There
is an unmistakable aura we carry that allows anyone who knows
anything about The Regent to easily identify people who went
there.
My name is Abubakar Umar and I am an alumnus of The Regent
School. I attended The Regent School from Year 1 all the way to Year
11. So, it would be fair to say that The Regent played an undeniable
role in who I am as a person. So, who am I? I am an athlete. I am
a writer. I am an entrepreneur. A well-rounded person in every
sense, celebrated for excellence wherever I find myself.

Besides ensuring a world-class standard of education in the
classrooms, The Regent School also did its best to ensure that
its students never stopped learning. From language classes to
cookery clubs, my time at The Regent introduced me to a diverse
range of interests and provided the perfect atmosphere to make
friends with many interesting people, a lot of whom I remain
friends with to this day. The Regent School instilled values and

principles in me that drive me to this day, and will continue to be
useful to me for the rest of my life.

Soak in as much as you can. Try new things. Make friends. Create children the courage to try,
moments. One day when it is all said and done, when everything
you are living through now has become a collage of memories,
you will look back at your time here and realise that you will the comfort to grow, and the
