Our focus in Chess club this week was Critical Thinking application.
Teaching critical thinking through chess to early learners involves introducing them to the game’s es-
sential rules and gradually guiding them through various aspects of strategic thinking.
The key elements, including problem-solving, pattern recognition, decision-making, planning and
strategy, learning from mistakes, focus and concentration, emotional regulation, creativity and social
skills, play a significant role in early learners’ development.
By incorporating these elements into Chess lessons, children not only have fun but also develop es-
sential critical thinking skills. This approach sets a solid foundation for their cognitive development,
ensuring long-term benefits and growth.
