Common First Aid
Scenarios
Bleeding / Nosebleed
• Apply pressure with a clean cloth.
• Elevate the injured area.
• If severe, apply a tourniquet and call for help.
Burns
• Remove clothing or jewelry near the area.
• Cool the burn with running water.
Broken Bones
• Immobilize the injured area.
• Apply ice to reduce swelling.
• Seek medical help.
Choking
• Call for help!
• Perform quick, upward thrusts above the navel.
Seizures
• Clear the area of harmful objects.
• Turn the person on their side.
• Loosen tight clothing.
Important Reminders
• Never hold someone down during a seizure.
• Do not put objects in their mouth.
• Avoid giving medication or pouring water on their
face.
