Exploring the Wonders of Living Things: A Year 2 Adventure

This term in Science, the Year 2 students embarked on an exciting journey to discover the liv-
ing things around us. Through engaging lessons and hands-on activities, they learned that a
habitat is the natural home for plants and animals.

The children explored a variety of habitats, including grasslands, deserts, oceans, and polar re-

gions. They were fascinated to learn about the unique plants and animals in each habitat and
how living things have adapted to thrive in their environments.

In addition to habitats, the students delved into

the different parts of plants and animals and
examined their life cycles. They were amazed
to see how living things grow and change over
time.

To cap off this thrilling unit, the children show-
cased their creativity by crafting dioramas of
their favourite habitats. Each diorama was a

masterpiece, complete with detailed models
of plants and animals. The students also took
their learning a step further by creating video
presentations, describing the habitats they had
studied and the fascinating plants and animals

within them.

Exploring living things deepened their under-

standing of the world and sparked their curiosi-
ty and creativity. Well done, Year 2!
