June is one of the particularly pivotal months in our academic year. Having
already begun the session for about eight months, it is when we experience an
incremental stock taking and preparing to say our goodbyes to fond-forged
bonds. In this penultimate month of the academic year, our students too, have
been doing their own side of stock-taking, reflecting on their time on the OSSD
programme here at the College.

In the following excerpt, we are pleased to bring you Precious Olonade’s
testimonial in which she reveals what has been a truly transformative
experience. Happy reading!

‘Hi, my name is Precious Olonade. I am currently on the OSSD programme here at The Regent College, Abuja,
Nigeria. As I stand at the edge of graduation, I can honestly say that this journey has been one of the most
challenging, yet rewarding and transformative chapters of my life! When I first came to Nigeria, it was my first
time living here, and honestly, I was scared. Everything felt different: the environment, the people, the pace. I
didn’t know if I’d fit in. But coming to The Regent College changed that. I found a school that welcomed me,
supported me, and helped me grow. The OSSD programme challenged me in the best ways and pushed me to
be independent and confident in my learning.

Teachers didn’t just show up to teach; they truly cared. They stayed after class, answered late emails, pushed
me when I wanted to give up, and celebrated my wins no matter how small. Because of them, I grew more
confident in myself and in my ability to succeed. The Regent College gave me a solid education, but more
than that, it gave me people who believed in me.’

Precious’ experience is emblematic of the overall exceptional OSSD experience in particular, but also, of The
