Safeguarding Snippets from the DSL

1. Did you know… your child’s online game may Fever check

Many games have live chat or messaging that can
expose children to strangers. Always check the guidelines
settings and ensure parental controls are activated.

2. Did you know…?
Creating a family “safe word” can help children
signal if they ever feel unsafe or are being picked
up by someone unexpected.

3. Did you know… children can be bullied online
without even having social media?
Even if your child isn’t on apps like TikTok or

WhatsApp, others may talk about them or share
images. Regular conversations help keep them
informed and supported.

4. Did you know… your child has a voice in
safeguarding?
We teach children about trusted adults, body
boundaries, and speaking up when something

doesn’t feel right – in age-appropriate ways.

5. Did you know… we’re happy to help with
questions about screen time, peer pressure, or

worries at home?
Safeguarding is a partnership. We’re always here to
listen and support you and your child.
